The HIVE sauna experience in a smaller footprint
HIVE Mini is the smaller member of HUUM's stone-first HIVE family. The round basket makes the heater a visual centerpiece while 331 lb of stones store heat and produce the gentle, rich, long-lasting steam that defines the HIVE design. It is a strong fit when you want the feel and appearance of HIVE but do not need the output or 528-lb stone mass of the full-size HIVE.
The current 2025+ air tunnel version
Every current HIVE Mini includes HUUM's stainless steel air tunnel as standard equipment. It improves airflow through the center of the heater, supports the heating elements, and helps prevent element overheating. HUUM's product training reports approximately 25% faster room heating and explains that the improved airflow and support are designed to help the elements last longer.
This is the latest HIVE Mini configuration. The air tunnel, four adjustable legs, and current HIVE installation and operation manual are included with the heater.
Choose the correct HIVE Mini
All three current U.S. models are 240V, single-phase and measure 18 1/8 inches in diameter by 29 17/32 inches high. The manual requires 47 1/4 inches from the top of the heater to the ceiling. For a floor-mounted HIVE Mini, the heater height plus that clearance produces a derived floor-to-ceiling installation envelope of approximately 77 inches. Final sizing, clearances, cable selection, and installation must follow the current U.S. manual and local code.
What is included and what is required
Included
- HUUM HIVE Mini electric sauna heater
- Four adjustable legs
- Current-generation air tunnel
- Current installation and operation manual
Required and sold separately
Recommended planning accessories
- HUUM HIVE safety rail, selecting Rail HM for HIVE Mini. HUUM strongly recommends a safety rail around the heater.
- HUUM HIVE reflector, selecting Reflect HM when the project needs the HIVE Mini version.
- HUUM HIVE Mini embedding flange when the heater passes through a bench platform.
Sizing and installation notes that matter
- Account for cold surfaces: for each square foot of glass, masonry, tile, brick, concrete, or other uninsulated surface, add 3.3 cubic feet to the calculated sauna volume before selecting the heater.
- Plan around roughly one hour of warm-up: HUUM says a properly insulated, correctly sized room usually reaches bathing temperature in about an hour. Wi-Fi UKU control lets you start the heater before you enter the sauna.
- Embedding is allowed: at least 13 25/32 inches, or 13.8 in, of the heater must remain above the bench surface. Use the correct HIVE Mini flange and preserve every manual clearance.
- No extension box is required for these models: the current 240V HIVE Mini 6, 9, and 11 are within the current UKU's direct capacity. The full-size 12, 15, and 18 kW HIVE models are a different system.
Load the stones correctly
Use only clean, durable 2 to 4-inch sauna stones. HUUM's product training instructs installers to keep the air tunnel clear of stones while covering the heating elements completely. Place stones loosely enough for air to move through the heater, do not force stones between the elements, and inspect and repack the stone bed at least annually as stones settle and degrade.
Warranty
HUUM's current limited warranty is 3 years for private use and 1 year for commercial use. Heating elements, accessories, sauna stones, and controller sensors are excluded. A licensed professional electrician must install and connect the system, and proof may be required for a claim. Open the current warranty and manuals in the Manuals & Documents tab for the complete terms.
HIVE Mini questions
Does HIVE Mini include the controller and stones?
No. The heater, adjustable legs, air tunnel, and heater manual are included. A compatible UKU control and ten boxes of Stones 24 are required and sold separately.
Why does HIVE Mini use so many stones?
The large stone mass stores heat and increases the stone surface available for water. That is what gives HIVE Mini its gentle, abundant, long-lasting steam instead of a sharper burst from a low-stone heater.
Which model should I choose?
Start with the finished interior volume, add the manual's 3.3 ft³ adjustment for every square foot of cold or uninsulated surface, then choose the model whose full range contains the adjusted volume. When a room sits near a boundary, review the construction, glazing, ventilation, and desired warm-up time with Sauna Marketplace before ordering.
Can designers download a HIVE Mini model?
Yes. HUUM provides DWG, OBJ, SKP, IFC, and 3DS files, including versions with the safety rail, on the official HIVE Mini resources page.
