Build the bench around HIVE Mini
The HIVE Mini flange finishes the bench opening around the smaller electric basket. It is not the full-size HIVE flange.
Why embed your heater?
Good sauna design aims to keep your feet near or above the top of the heater stones. Warm air rises, so a low foot bench can leave your feet in cooler air while your head gets hot. Planning the seat and footrest heights around the stone level helps bring more of your body into the warmer part of the sauna.
Embedding your HUUM HIVE Mini into a raised bench or platform lets you build the layout around the heater, with this flange finishing the opening. The bench and footrest heights create the relationship between your feet and the stones; the flange alone does not change it. Keep the required portion of the heater above the surrounding surface and follow the heater and flange manuals for clearances, ventilation, mounting and service access.

What it does
The Flange HM is the trim piece that finishes the opening when a HIVE Mini is installed partly inside the bench. In HUUM’s words: “The embedding flange is useful when you are planning to install your HIVE heater partly inside the sauna bench. It is made of stainless steel and it covers up the wooden edges around the heater, leaving the final result looking refined and smooth.”

This is the HIVE Mini flange, listed by HUUM under Operating Accessories on the HIVE Mini electric heater page. The full-size HIVE electric heater takes the larger Flange H, at 22.64 in inside diameter against 18.31 in here, so the two are not interchangeable. HIVE Flow is a different, wood-burning family and does not use this part.

Common questions
Do I need an embedding flange?
An embedding flange is only needed when the sauna heater is being set partly down inside the bench or platform rather than standing free on the floor. HUUM describes the Flange HM as useful “when you are planning to install your HIVE heater partly inside the sauna bench”, where the stainless ring covers the cut wooden edges around the heater. A HIVE Mini standing openly on the sauna floor does not need one.
What size is the HUUM Flange HM?
The HUUM Flange HM measures 18.31 in inside diameter and 24.61 in outside diameter. It is stainless steel, weighs 3.1 lb, and HUUM specifies it for HIVE Mini sauna heaters.
Will the HIVE Mini flange fit a full-size HIVE heater?
The HIVE Mini flange does not fit the full-size HIVE heater, which takes the separate Flange H. Flange HM (part H3002022) measures 18.31 in inside diameter and 24.61 in outside diameter, while Flange H (part H3003022) measures 22.64 in inside diameter and 28.94 in outside diameter.
