What it is

The HUUM Display Panel Cable is designed for connecting the display panel to the main module. It comes in a 33 ft length.

It carries the panel circuit only. The temperature and door sensors run on their own cable: the UKU manual gives the control panel cable four 22 AWG conductors and the sensor cables two 28 AWG conductors, so the two are not interchangeable.

What the UKU manual says

• “The cable of the control panel should not exceed 65.6 ft / 65 ft.”
• “The cable of the control panel should not be routed parallel to the high current cables.”
• The control panel cable supplied inside the UKU kit is 118 in, 4 x 22 AWG.

When the display is dead

Before replacing a cable, bypass the one you have. You can bring the UKU display control to the Main Module and use short wires to connect for testing. Any CAT5/6 or similar low-current cable with at least four distinguishable cores is suitable. The UKU manual applies the same logic to the temperature sensor, connect it to the main module with a shorter wire, “ruling out a faulty wire”.

My new HUUM UKU display still won't turn on, do I need a replacement control panel cable?

Test the run with a short temporary wire before buying a replacement HUUM UKU control panel cable. The practical method is to carry the UKU display control down to the main module and join the two with short wires: "Any CAT5/6 or similar low-current cable with at least four distinguishable cores is suitable." Four-conductor low-voltage wire in 20 AWG will do the job. If the display lights up on the short wire, the installed cable is the fault; if it stays dark, the cable is not what is wrong.
