Built for the pour
A ladle spends its working life at arm’s length over the heater. At 16.9 in, the Ladle 2 keeps your hand well back from the stones, and the round aluminum head carries enough water for a proper wave of löyly. The bamboo handle meets the head in a colored sleeve, so the black or white runs from the bowl up the neck and the wood takes over where your hand goes.
Black or white
KOLO makes the ladle in the same two colors as its buckets and its sauna thermometer, so a matched set is easy: black with dark wood and black heaters, white with pale aspen and spruce. Mixing works too; the bamboo handle ties either color back to the wood in the room.
Pair it with a bucket
The ladle ships on its own. For a pail you carry from above, the KOLO Bucket 2 has a curved bentwood bow. For a handle you grab from the side, the KOLO Bucket 3 has a straight bamboo handle. Both hold 1.3 gal and both come in black or white.
