Every EOS heater is a purpose-built system: the heater pairs with a separate matching EOS North America control panel and power box, a mandatory temperature sensor with safety limiter, contact protection, and a planned ventilation path. That system approach is what makes the installation predictable for your electrician and sauna builder.

Both Mythos heaters share the same award-winning cubist design language, finished exterior, stainless rock store, geometric Cubius stone crown, front service access, and shallow 14.6-inch depth. The difference is scale: width, output, stone mass, and the rooms they serve.

Controls: required and sold separately
No current EOS US heater includes its control. Every Mythos installation needs a matching EOS North America control system — a Touch 3 (7-inch color touch panel with separate power box) or an EmoTec D kit (compact TFT panel with jog dial, sensor, cables, and power box). The S35 pairs with a 9 kW power box and the S45 with a 15 kW power box, in the exact voltage of your heater and service — a 240 V heater must never be paired with 208 V control hardware, and vice versa. The panel and power box mount outside the hot room; the digital temperature sensor with safety limiter comes with the control system.
Installation planning at a glance
- Indoor installation only, on a level, noncombustible floor.
- Minimum cabin interior height 74.8 in; at least 35.4 in from heater top to a horizontal ceiling.
- 1.6 in minimum clearance at front, rear, and each side of the body; nonmetallic contact protection (guard) wherever touch exposure exists.
- Low air inlet approximately 2–3.9 in above the floor and an output-specific vent opening.
- Ceiling-mounted sensor centered over the heater; final wiring by a licensed electrician per the current North America installation manual, nameplates, NEC, and local code.
Service and replacement parts
EOS publishes replacement parts for long-term service. Mythos heating elements are replaceable through the front terminal box behind the removable design panel, and Cubius crown sets are available as replacement/design kits in black, white, and natural — including single Loop 4 infusion stones. EOS frequently asked questions
Are controls included with EOS heaters?
No. Select the matching Touch 3 or EmoTec D control with the exact 208 or 240 V, 9 or 15 kW power hardware for your heater. Heater prices are heater-only.
Can I use a 240 V heater on 208 V service?
No. Heater and power-box voltage must match your project's electrical service and the nameplates exactly. The S45 is 208 V three-phase only.
Are sauna stones included?
The Mythos system uses conventional natural stones in the rock store plus the geometric Cubius crown on top. Package contents are verified before shipment — we confirm the exact stone and Cubius contents of your carton with the distributor before your order ships.
Is a safety guard optional?
Compliant contact protection is required by the installation manual wherever touch exposure exists. An EOS Mythos guard rail is available; four-sided configurations are supported.
