Aspen is the default sauna wood for good reason. It carries almost no resin, so it will not bleed sap or turn sticky in the heat, and it stays cool enough to lean against without flinching. The pale, even grain has a clean Scandinavian look and takes paint or stain well if you want a custom tone. Soft to the touch and splinter-resistant, aspen is a safe choice for bench tops, backrests, and full wall cladding alike. Our aspen comes in tongue-and-groove wall profiles and S4SEE bench stock milled with eased edges for bare-skin comfort.
