Square stock gets underused in sauna interiors. It shouldn’t.
The ProSaunas Aspen 3×3 S4SEE is a bench board milled to a true 68mm x 68mm square (2.68″ x 2.68″), surfaced smooth on all four faces with eased edges. At that cross-section it’s thick enough to stand up as structural bench support without additional framing behind it, or to use as a chunky bench deck board where you want depth and presence rather than a slim slat profile. The aspen is straight-grained, pale, and consistent in color board to board. Milled in Estonia. Sold by the linear foot in 1 and 10 ft lengths.
Why Aspen
At 68mm square, the board has a lot of surface in contact with the body. Aspen’s low thermal conductivity means it doesn’t get hot to the touch even when the room is running at full temperature. No resin, no splinters, no aromatic compounds that can irritate sensitive skin. The pale color keeps a room feeling open even with the heavier visual weight of square stock. One honest note: natural aspen is the softest wood in our bench lineup. At 68mm thick the board is strong, but the surface face will scratch more readily than thermo-aspen or alder. A quick sand refreshes it fine. If you want a harder surface, the thermo-aspen 3×3 is the alternative.

Bench decks where you want a chunky, solid-stock look. Structural bench support legs or rails where the wood is exposed and visible.
