    What these are

    HUUM’s description: “33 lbs of 1″ to 2″ of rounded olivine sauna stones. We highly recommend using rounded stones in HUUM heaters to complement the design and have milder steam.”

    Stone size is a specification, not a preference. This 1 to 2 in grade, HUUM’s Stones 12, is the one the HUUM heater/stone chart assigns to CLIFF Mini, CLIFF, STEEL Mini and STEEL. The 2 to 4 in grade, Stones 24, is the one the same chart assigns to DROP, HIVE Mini, HIVE, HIVE Flow Mini, HIVE Flow, HIVE Heat, HIVE Wood and CORE. Do not substitute one grade for the other.

    Stacking them

    HUUM’s guidance: “Since they are very visible in HUUM heaters, you need both smaller and bigger stones to avoid big noticeable gaps. We also suggest laying smaller stones and more close together on the top to accumulate the heat better.” Rounded stones are recommended because “the water can reach inner layers of stones and evaporate gradually instead of evaporating all at once from the top layer”.
