What it does

HUUM’s description: “Thanks to the placement of the HUUM Reflect S on the heater, it is possible to achieve half smaller safety distances from the walls. It is made of stainless steel and is mounted on the side of the heater. The reflectors can be connected to each other.”

The Reflect S is sold as a single panel and you decide which side of the heater to mount it on. Where more than one side of the heater faces a wall, reflectors connect to each other. Clearance figures for your own room are in the STEEL heater manual.

What the STEEL Reflector manual says

“Place the reflector on the heater’s side so that the upper hooks fall over the upper thin rib and the lower hooks fall over their nearest rib.”
“Make sure that the top edge of the reflector and the top edge of the heater is at the same height.”
“If you want to use a safety railing, the reflector should be placed before the wood profiles of the safety railing are fixed.”
“For convenient installation, place the reflector on the heater before filling the heater with the stones.”

That last point is the opposite of the CLIFF reflector, whose manual says to fit it after the stones go in. Work to the manual for the heater you own.

Common questions

Does a HUUM heater need one reflector panel or two?

One HUUM Reflect S covers one side of the heater, so you need one panel per side that faces a wall you want to bring closer. HUUM sells the Reflect S as a single panel and lets you choose which side of the heater to mount it on, and the reflectors can be connected to each other where two sides need shielding. The panel is 37.4 in tall by 12.6 in wide and hooks over the heater's ribs, top edge level with the top edge of the heater.
