Finnmark FD-4 Sauna Cushion | Marine-Grade Vinyl Bench Cushion for the FD-4 Trinity

Built for the FD-4 Trinity

The Trinity cushions are the shallow pair. At 17 in deep, the FD-4 cushion is made for the Trinity, so order this one rather than a 20 in deep FD cushion. The room it fits is the Finnmark FD-4 Trinity, Finnmark’s infrared and traditional hybrid sauna.

What’s included

• One Finnmark FD-4 sauna cushion, 44 in L x 17 in D x 2.5 in thick
• Finnmark’s 5-year limited warranty (in the Attachments tab)

What it’s made of

A black marine-grade vinyl cover over a 2.5 in foam insert, both of which Finnmark describes as non-toxic. Finnmark rates the vinyl fade- and tear-resistant and closes the cover with a full zipper “for easy cleaning.”

How to keep it clean

These steps come from Finnmark’s FD and Trinity owner’s manuals and Finnmark’s accessory warranty.

1. Sit on a towel, not straight on the vinyl. Finnmark’s manual calls for one towel on the bench, one on the floor for sweat and a third to wipe off with. On the cushion, the bench towel catches the sweat.
2. Take damp towels out after every session. Finnmark’s manual says not to leave damp towels on the bench.
3. Unplug the sauna, then wipe the cushion with a damp cloth. A damp cloth is the cleaning method Finnmark’s manual gives for the inside of the sauna.
4. Skip the sprays. Finnmark’s manual says not to use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleansers inside the sauna, and the accessory warranty does not cover damage from improper care or from non-recommended cleaning agents.

Warranty

Finnmark’s accessory warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for five years from the date of delivery, for the original buyer, in a home sauna. It does not cover commercial or institutional use, normal wear and tear, or damage from improper care. The full warranty is in the Attachments tab.

Pick the right size

Finnmark cuts each cushion to one room:

• FD-1 cushion, 30 x 20 in, for the FD-1
• FD-2 cushion, 41 x 20 in, for the FD-2
• FD-3 cushion, 65.5 x 20 in, for the FD-3
• FD-4 cushion, 44 x 17 in, for the FD-4 Trinity (this page)
• FD-5 cushion, 68 x 17 in, for the FD-5 Trinity XL

For your back, add the Finnmark Curve, a cedar backrest Finnmark calls suitable for any sauna.

Questions we get

Is a cushion better than a towel?

A cushion adds 2.5 in of foam and wipes clean. A towel or seat cover goes in the washing machine. Either way, Finnmark’s manual calls for a towel on the bench, and with a cushion it goes on top.

What’s it made of, and is it safe in the heat?

Marine-grade vinyl over a 2.5 in foam insert, both of which Finnmark describes as non-toxic. Finnmark doesn’t publish emissions test results, and we don’t have a test report to show you.

Can I use it in a clinic, gym or rental?

You can, but Finnmark’s accessory warranty covers residential use only, so it won’t cover a commercial sauna. For a room that many people use, washable seat covers or towels, one per person, are the easier routine.
