Questions about the stainless pail
Why steel in a wood sauna?
Contrast. ProSaunas designed this pail to complement the natural wood in a sauna, and polished steel does that by reflecting it, warm boards on a bright surface. The practical side: the water sits in steel, with no liner to lift out and no staves to swell.
What is the handle?
Bentwood, curved in an arc and fixed to each side of the pail, so you carry it the way you would carry any pail and fold it down when the pail sits on the bench or the floor.
How big is the ladle?
It is 16.5 in long and 6 in across the bowl, in matching stainless steel with a dark grip at the end of the handle. ProSaunas gives it a large reservoir for a full splash on the stones and keeps it light at 0.3 lb. The pail itself weighs 1.15 lb.
Pail or bucket?
ProSaunas also makes a 1 gal stainless bucket with an upright wooden handle and a wood-gripped ladle. The pail is the lower of the two at 7 in tall; the bucket stands 13 in with its handle straight up. Both are on the buckets and ladles page alongside our wood options.
