Aroma oil is the easiest thing in a sauna to get wrong. Too much and the room turns sharp and the next two sessions still smell of it. The reason this set includes a dropper and a bowl rather than just a bottle is that both of them slow you down. The dropper meters the dose. The ceramic bowl holds the oil in the room’s own heat and lets it release gradually into the air rather than flashing off the stones in one pour.

What grapefruit smells like in a hot room
Bright and citrus-forward. It reads cleaner and lighter than the resinous birch, pine and eucalyptus scents that dominate Nordic sauna, which makes it a good choice for a morning session or for anyone who finds the traditional scents heavy. It is a preference, not a performance spec, so if you are buying a first bottle it is worth knowing which end of the range you are aiming at.

What it is made for
Saunum designed this set for their Air Perfect and Air L sauna heaters and for the AirSolo climate equalizing system. Those units move air through the room deliberately, which is exactly the condition a slow-release bowl is built for. If you are running a Saunum, this is the scent set that matches the machine.
