Dry
Rento’s own suggestion is dry brushing before a shower: the brush on dry skin, before any water. The round handle on top keeps your grip steady without a long stick in the way.
Wet
After the sauna, add your favorite soap and use it as a scrubbing brush. Rento describes it as gentle exfoliation with mildly abrasive natural bristles, which is the point of a body brush rather than a washcloth.
Built from three things
Bamboo for the body and handle, oil-treated for a smooth surface; natural hair for the bristles; and a cotton cord threaded through the handle so it can hang from a hook between uses. The body is 3.7 in across and 2.6 in tall.
Two finishes: Natural, the pale bamboo grain, or Dark Brown oil-treated bamboo. If you want something for your back too, see the long-handled brushes on the sauna brushes page.
