The North America Mythos is its own platform: 208V three-phase and 240V variants at 60 Hz, its own installation manual, its own control boxes, and its own item numbers. Specs copied from the European 400V catalog will fail your electrician’s first question.

The Mythos is a heater body, not a plug-in appliance, and that is deliberate. The complete system is four parts: the heater, a control panel mounted at eye level outside the cabin, a power box in a dry accessible location outside the hot room, and a digital ceiling sensor with a safety limiter (supplied with the control system). Your electronics never sit in 190°F steam.

The S45 pairs with a matching 15 kW EOS USA control system:

• EOS Touch 3: a premium 7-inch capacitive color touchscreen with guided setup, clear-text diagnostics, light and fan control, and optional app control through the EOS App Module. Panel-to-power-box cable runs to 32.8 ft maximum.
• EOS EmoTec D: a compact TFT display with a tactile jog dial. Fast, glove-friendly operation.

Panel choice alone does not determine compatibility: output capacity, voltage, sensor, cable runs, and firmware all have to line up, which is why we review every control selection against your heater before fulfillment. EOS has revised its US power-box item numbers across generations, so we confirm the exact current kit with the distributor on every order rather than guessing from an old catalog.

One S45 does not need a separate power extension. The current 15 kW EOS USA power box drives a single 12 or 15 kW heater directly; the PEB expansion box is for engineered multi-cabin systems.

EOS publishes a floor-area range for each output at a 6.2 ft reference height. Your real number moves with glass walls, masonry, uninsulated surfaces, and ceilings over 6.2 ft, all of which add heating demand. Size from calculated interior volume and construction, not square footage alone.

A note on finishes: “Anthracite + Brushed Stainless” is an anthracite body with brushed-stainless front detailing, not an all-stainless shell. EOS also shows Water Reflection and Dark Bronze treatments in its global materials; those are not yet orderable US items, and we only sell what EOS actually ships here.

The Mythos was engineered for visible placement, so the clearances are tight for a heater this powerful: 1.6 inches at the front, back, and each side.

Underneath the crown, the S45 is a traditional stone heater: a stainless rock store holding a large natural-stone bed for thermal mass and soft loyly. On top, 24 hand-cut geometric Cubius soapstones finish the heater like architecture. Pour water and it sheets across the smooth Cubius geometry down to the hot stones below.

The Cubius pieces come in black, white, or natural, so the crown can contrast or match your shell finish, and replacement sets are available. Single Cubius Loop stones add a carved water channel for a longer visible pour. One honest note: Cubius stones are the design layer, not the heat storage. The conventional stone bed underneath stays loosely stacked and does the thermal work.

EOS has built sauna equipment in Germany for more than 80 years, and the Mythos is built for service, not disposal. The inner shell and rock store are stainless steel. The terminal box sits at the front behind the removable design panel, so element access does not require moving walls or benches. Every heating element is a published, orderable part: nine elements per heater, 1333 W each at 12 kW or 1666 W each at 15 kW. Wash and loosely restack the stones at least once a year, replace any cracked ones, and keep the air paths open.

If the heater will sit unused for weeks, run it periodically: idle elements can absorb ambient moisture, and the manual describes a supervised drying cycle if a ground-fault device ever trips after long storage.

Is the control included?

No. Every current EOS US heater pairs with a separate matching control panel and power box, chosen by output capacity and voltage. Pick Touch 3 or EmoTec D above, or choose the review option and we will confirm compatibility before anything ships.

Can I pour water on it?

Yes. The Mythos is a full loyly heater. Use modest amounts of water and properly diluted sauna essence only, poured over the stones, and keep herbs and additives off the stone bed.

Do I need a power extension for the S45?

Not for one heater. The current 15 kW EOS USA power box drives a single 12 or 15 kW Mythos directly. The PEB expansion box exists for engineered multi-cabin and multi-heater systems.

Are the stones included?

The current EOS North America catalog lists the stone filling and the Cubius crown with the heater, and EOS’s factory documents describe the scope slightly differently. So we verify package contents before shipment on every order rather than promising a carton we have not confirmed, and we ask you to inspect all components at delivery.

Which voltage does the S45 use, and is it right for a home?

The Mythos S45 is 208V three-phase only, which is commercial-building power: hotels, gyms, spas, and many high-rise condos. That makes it the commercial-scale Mythos. For a home on standard 240V single-phase service, the Mythos S35 carries the same design in home-sauna outputs; if your building actually has three-phase service, send us a panel photo and we will confirm the S45 fits.

Can I run a 240V heater on 208V service?

No. Heater, power box, and your electrical service must match exactly. Most US homes have 240V single-phase service; 208V three-phase is common in commercial buildings and some condos. Not sure which you have? Send us a photo of your panel.

Where do the control panel and power box go?

Outside the cabin. The panel mounts at eye level near the door; the power box mounts in a dry accessible location, never inside a sealed cabinet. The digital sensor mounts on the cabin ceiling, centered over the heater.

Can it go outdoors, in an alcove, or under a bench?

No to all three. The North America manual specifies indoor cabins with the heater standing free, protected from weather and condensation. If you want a hidden heater, ask us about the EOS Invisio Midi instead.

What is the lead time?

Mythos heaters ship freight through EOS’s official US distribution. We confirm the current lead time on your exact SKU when you order, and you get tracking when it ships. If timing is critical, call or text before ordering and we will check availability first.

Is it approved for commercial use?

EOS builds the Mythos for private and commercial indoor cabins. Commercial projects get a duty-cycle, ventilation, and control review as part of our quote; ask us to start one.

What maintenance does it need?

Wash and loosely restack the stones at least once a year, replace cracked ones, and keep the vents clear. Heating elements and the thermal cutout are published EOS spare parts, replaceable from the front panel by a qualified technician.

The S35 marketing data sheet’s fuse table has a known misprint; never schedule electrical from it.
