Step 1
Auroom saunas are completely customizable. Standard Nativa options include the three most popular sauna woods which are stocked in North America.
Thermally Modified aspen has been naturally treated using heat and steam by Thermory – the global leader in thermal modification. It also darkens the wood to create a more ‘moody’ wood suitable for darker, nordic, and designer spa aesthetics.
Natural Aspen is a beautiful light wood popular in Europe for its clean look and soft touch. Choose natural aspen for bright, minimalist, or high-contrast designs.
A favorite in Finland, natural alder is darker than aspen and has natural qualities that shed water. It’s a naturally durable, soft, and beautiful sauna choice.

Nativa comes in five standard sizes, or can be custom built for you in Europe.

Heater Options for the 48″x71″ Nativa
The EFFECTIVE volume of this room is approximately 225 cubic feet when the glass surface and insulation materials are considered. A 6KW heater is a nice size here.
We recommend a HUUM DROP 6 if you like it very hot. The DROP has a lot of stones which creates a softer heat and more steam potential. However, it takes longer to heat up all those rocks so the Wi-Fi option is recommended.
If you want to keep it basic, Harvia WALL with built in controls is a perfect choice that heats the room FAST. The 6kw version works great in the 48×71″ Nativa.
Do you like a lot of steam? The Harvia Virta Combi has an automatic steaming function that allows you to set the humidity in addition to the temperature. It’s the perfect combination of a steam room and sauna. Again, the 6kw is perfect in the smallest Nativa.
Another option in this sauna is the Saunum Air 7. The black version works great out of the box, but the stainless you will require a heat shield for the bench available on Sauna Marketplace. Please contact us if interested in this option..

Best Heaters for the 79″x98″ Auroom Nativa
This is a large space with a lot of glass so let’s make sure we’re sizing the heater right!
After factoring in the materials and glass surfaces, this sauna’s effective volume is 444 cubic feet.
Pairing a Saunum Air L 13 with this room is an incredible experience.
Saunum is a heater with a built in air circulator that redistributes the hottest air from the ceiling to the floor. The result is a more comfortable sauna that you’ll leave feeling better than when you entered.
However, if you like it VERY hot, then a HUUM HIVE 11 is the way to go. Other heaters have a maximum temperature setting of 194°F but HUUM goes to 230°F.
The other heater we love in the largest Nativa is the Harvia Combi 11. This one is for steam lovers. It contains a water reservoir and humidity sensor so you can set the humidity and create automatic steam. In a large sauna like this one, it’s nice to be able to sit on the opposite wall of the heater and not have to get up to pour water on the rocks.

Gather Basic Tools
You most likely already have what you need to build your new sauna kit, but a quick Amazon order or hardware store run will get you caught up. You will need a drill, tape measure, hammer, level, caulk gun, and hand saw.
Make Space
Auroom Saunas are sturdy enough to slide into place once assembled. For now, leave yourself room to work.
Lay out and Level Aluminum Base
The aluminum frame ensures water will never wick up into the wood sauna structure. The first step is to connect it then make sure it's square and level. Spending some extra time getting that just right will make everything else easier.
Now the Fun Part!
Wall panels are complete assembled with a simple number system to make it easy. Simply slide into place, insert corner posts, insert into clips, and screw into place.
This is a very satisfying step!
Place Benches
The benches are also prebuilt and have adjustable legs. Simply line up the holes and lock them in.
The aluminum-supported glass bench supports can also be screwed in place and sealed with silicone where it meets the floor.
After the bench frame is installed is the best time to wire your LED light kit that comes with this sauna. Channels are built into the walls to run the wires from the ceiling down. Always use a certified electrician.
Integrated, Adjustable Glass System
Place glass along with wood frame and aluminum channel. Adjust, silicone the aluminum channel to the floor, and secure the door hardware.
Install ceiling frame and front frame to give it a finished look, and your sauna is built! Consult an electrician and your heaters manual for wiring the heater and controller. Remember the Nativa has conduit and wiring channels already built in from the top down!
