Auroom Sauna Kits

Auroom is an Estonian manufacturer, and what carries across their line is how the wall is built. The indoor kits are fully studded panelized walls: mineral wool insulation, a taped-seam radiant barrier on the sauna side, cladding on both faces, just over three inches thick on a Libera. The outdoor models are cross-laminated timber, a solid mass-timber panel that stores heat and radiates it back. Interiors are furniture grade with no visible fasteners.

Indoors we stock the Cala, Baia, Libera, Familia, Vulcana and Lumina; outdoors the Mira S, Mira L, Aura and Aurea as kits, plus the Garda, Arti, Terra and Natura fully assembled. Auroom assembles every sauna in its Estonian factory and goes over it with a flashlight before packing it. What size heater does an Auroom sauna with a glass front need?

Size the glass, not just the floor area. HUUM’s US manual for the DROP adds 3.3 cubic feet of room volume for every square foot of uninsulated glass before you read the kW table, and Harvia’s Spirit manual adds 3.94. On a Mira S headed to a cold climate we ran that math and landed at 230 cubic feet adjusted, which held the heater at 6 kW.

What comes in an Auroom sauna kit, and is a heater included?

The walls arrive as preassembled elements, with corner posts, bench supports and bench grids, a floor grid, a 5/16 inch tempered glass door, a heater guard, a backrest with LED lighting, and conduit built in for a left or right heater and control. Auroom also packs a bucket and ladle, thermometer, hygrometer, sand timer, five aroma oils, a hat and a pillow, all under a 2 year warranty. The heater is ordered separately.

How long does an Auroom sauna take to build, and how fast does it ship?

Auroom rates the cabin kits, the Cala and Baia among them, at 4 to 6 hours with two people, and a general contractor or a skilled handyman can do it without sauna experience. A stocked Baia leaves the Wheeling, Illinois warehouse in 10 to 14 days. The Garda skips assembly entirely and arrives finished at 4,079 pounds on a flatbed, so plan on a crane or tractor to set it.

What electrical does an Auroom sauna need?

The HUUM DROP 2.0 goes into more Auroom rooms than any other single heater we sell. At 7.5 kW it wants a dedicated 240 volt circuit on a 40 amp two-pole breaker, since it draws about 31 amps. Run #8 copper, keep the control outside the hot room 48 to 60 inches up, and wire from the top down through the conduit Auroom builds in.
