Room for the sauna. Room left in the yard.
Your sauna does not have to take over the garden. Patio XXS gives you a full-width upper bench, a lower foot bench and a glazed front in a cabin about 80 inches wide by 74 inches deep. Leil rates it for up to three people. For a quieter evening with one or two, there is room to settle in without planning a larger building around it.
The practical appeal is in the construction: 1.6-inch solid Thermowood walls, two-level alder seating, a ceiling with 1.2-inch PIR insulation, and an EPDM roof with metal edge covers. This is a one-room sauna kit; choose it for the compact footprint rather than a changing room or covered terrace.

The imperial drawing rounds several dimensions to whole inches. Keep space for door movement, maintenance, ventilation and heater clearances beyond the cabin footprint. Confirm packed dimensions and unloading equipment with us before scheduling delivery.

Leil offers electric or wood-burning heat, but its Patio XXS material does not approve a specific heater model. These are independently screened candidates, not confirmed Patio XXS packages. The cabin kit includes no heater. Check the complete placement against the XXS drawing and current heater manual before ordering.

Other dealers also list DROP 6, DROP 7 and HIVE Mini 11. DROP 6 passes HUUM’s glass-only calculation but not our conservative timber stress test; DROP 7 falls about 3 cubic feet short of that stress test; HIVE Mini 11 at 240 V starts above the glass-adjusted volume. A 208 V HIVE Mini 11 appears volume-plausible in HUUM’s separate table, but it is not a current selection on our U.S. heater page. Room-volume math alone does not establish fit.

The 3D planners show the heater in a configurable room; they are not a 3D model or approval of the Patio XXS. We do not have an exact XXS 3D model from Leil, so use the downloadable XXS drawing for cabin dimensions. Do not order a heater until its position and complete system are checked. Book a Ben to review the layout and available electrical service with us. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit and installation.
Light the bench, the doorway, or both.
Interior lighting is optional: choose a dimmable LED strip beneath the bench, above the backrest, or in both positions. The LED set includes its cable, transformer, dimmer and installation box. The exterior option is a two-spot set beneath the roof. Select the lighting below the product price; the total updates with your choices.
Before the crate arrives.
Foundation, assembly and ventilation
Prepare a level, load-bearing base and plan the route from curbside to its final position. This listing is a kit for on-site assembly. Follow the supplied installation manual and the selected heater’s current US instructions together. Confirm intake, exhaust, sensor placement and local requirements before cutting openings. The floor gutter also needs an appropriate route for water to leave the sauna.
Protect the wood from the start
Leil requires a suitable protective coating on exterior wood immediately after installation, followed by another application after about two months. Later recoating depends on the product and exposure. Treat interior surfaces with sauna-suitable products before first use, maintain them as directed, and oil benches and footrests once or twice a year. Follow the manual and the treatment manufacturer’s instructions.
Curbside freight and receiving
Standard curbside freight is $1,190 per sauna to the contiguous United States, added at checkout. Contact us for other destinations or special-access requirements. Unloading equipment, labor, moving the cabin into the yard and assembly are arranged separately. Let us know about narrow roads, steep drives, delivery restrictions or special equipment before dispatch.
Inspect the crate and contents before signing. Photograph packaging and visible damage, record damage or shortages on the delivery receipt, and report concealed freight damage within 48 hours. Retain damaged goods and original packaging for 30 days pending instructions. Delivery dates remain estimates until confirmed for your order.
Manufacturer warranty
The Patio XXS manual states a 24-month warranty from delivery for material and production defects, subject to its installation, use, storage and maintenance conditions. Natural wood changes, ordinary wear, incorrect installation or use, weather damage and unauthorized alterations are excluded. Notify us promptly about defects; the manual specifies seven days. Are the Patio XXS walls insulated?
The walls are 1.6-inch solid Thermowood, with no separate wall insulation layer. The ceiling has 1.2-inch PIR insulation.
Which heater options should I consider?
Start with the HUUM DROP 9 at 240 V or HIVE Mini 9 at 240 V as volume-screened candidates; both still need a placement and clearance review. Leil also lists wood-burning heat, but the exact stove and chimney layout are not yet confirmed. See the heater comparison above. Heaters, required controls and stones are separate from the cabin kit.
Does the factory tour show the Patio XXS?
Both Bens visited Leil’s factory and showroom in Estonia. The Patio in our factory 360° tour is the larger Patio S, not the XXS. The XXS photos and downloadable drawing on this page are the references for this model.
Is lighting included?
No. Optional dimmable LED strips are available beneath the bench, behind the backrest, or in both positions. A separate two-spot set is available beneath the roof.
What should I prepare before delivery?
Prepare a level, load-bearing foundation and a clear route for curbside unloading. Unloading equipment, labor, moving the cabin into place, assembly and electrical work are arranged separately. Leil also requires protective treatment for the exterior wood after installation; follow the supplied manual.
