Why the IceBath Wins in Real Rooms
Zero-Gravity Cold
Most cold plunges force you to sit bolt upright with your knees to your chest. The IceBath’s 88.9-inch length, or 96 inches for the XL, and 60% back recline mean you can stretch out and fully submerge your torso and shoulders.
It is easy to get in and out of, just like a standard bathtub, allowing you to focus entirely on your breath instead of your posture.
Hot and Cold in One Unit
You do not need to buy a separate hot tub. The powerful 1HP engine cools the water down to 37.4°F (37 °F) and heats it up to 100.4°F (100 °F).
You can control the temperature directly from the engine panel or remotely via the Icetubs mobile app.
Crystal Clear Water, Minimal Maintenance
Stagnant water is the enemy of a good cold plunge. The IceBath features a continuous three-stage filtration system that cycles and cleans the entire tub every six minutes.
Combined with a built-in ozonator that neutralizes bacteria without harsh chemicals, the water stays crystal clear. The eco-friendly filter captures contaminants as small as 5 microns.
European Craftsmanship & Materials
Crafted in the Netherlands, the IceBath features a stunning Thermowood, or thermally modified wood, exterior. This is the exact same dimensionally stable, rot-resistant wood we recommend for premium saunas.
Inside, the tub is lined with high-grade stainless steel, which is hygienic, incredibly durable, and completely rust-proof.
In plain terms: The IceBath is the closest thing you can get to a professional athletic training room recovery tub, wrapped in a beautiful, furniture-grade Thermowood exterior that looks stunning on a patio or in a home gym.
Sizing Guidance
The IceBath comes in two sizes to accommodate different body types and spaces.
The Standard IceBath
Ideal for most users. It measures 88.9 inches long and holds 106.7 gallons of water. If you are under 6’2″, this is likely the perfect fit.
The IceBath XL
Designed for taller bathers who need more legroom, or for those who simply want a more spacious plunge. It measures 96 inches long, is slightly wider and deeper, and holds 132.1 gallons of water.
Consider Another Model If…
- You have severe space constraints. The IceBath is long. If you only have a 3×3 foot corner available, you should look at the upright Icetubs IceBarrel instead.
- You are on a strict budget. This is a premium, award-winning European appliance. If you are looking for an entry-level plunge under $3,000, this is not the right product for you.
The Installer Handoff
Copy and paste this to your electrician and GC:
- Base: Level, non-settling pad, such as a slab, pavers over base, or engineered deck. The filled unit weighs more than 1,200 lbs, or 1,500 lbs for the XL, so ensure the supporting surface is rated for the load.
- Electrical: The IceBath requires a standard 110V / 60Hz grounded outlet. No special 220V wiring is required. Max power input is 1.7 kW, or 14.5 amps.
- Outdoor Placement: If installed outdoors, the power cable is water-resistant, but the circuit breaker box on the cord must be mounted to a wall and protected from direct rain and moisture. Do not leave the breaker box resting on the ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it stay outside in winter?
Yes, but with a major caveat. If the ambient temperature drops below 23°F (-41 °F), the tub must be drained and the engine moved indoors to avoid freeze damage in the pipes. Freeze damage is not covered under warranty.
Do chlorine or bromine need to be added?
No. Chlorine, salts, and acid-containing materials should never be used in the IceBath because they will damage the stainless steel. The built-in ozonator and filtration system handle routine water cleaning. We recommend using the Icetubs AquaFinesse Water Care treatment to keep the water perfectly balanced.
How often should the water be changed?
If you run the engine regularly and use the AquaFinesse treatment, you only need to change the water and the filter every 1 to 2 months with daily use by one person.
Should the engine be turned off between sessions to save electricity?
No. The energy savings from turning it off are negligible. Keeping the engine running in automatic mode maintains the temperature and, more importantly, keeps the water circulating through the filter and ozonator. Turning it off leads to stagnant water and bacteria growth.
