304 Stainless Steel, Not Acrylic
The tub and surround are 304 stainless steel, the same corrosion-resistant grade used in commercial kitchens. Stainless holds temperature more efficiently than acrylic or plastic shells, shrugs off daily use, and gives you the non-porous, easy-to-sanitize surface that commercial facilities require. A Backrest You Will Actually Use

- Base: Level, non-settling surface such as a slab, pavers over base, or an engineered deck. The filled tub weighs roughly 1,650 lbs, so confirm the surface is rated for the load.
- Electrical: Standard 110–120V / 60Hz grounded outlet. Max draw is 1,650 watts at 15 amps (NEMA 5-15P). The GFCI protection is built into the supplied cord and plug, so no special wiring is required.
- Chiller placement: Leave 20 inches of clearance on all sides of the chiller section and avoid fully enclosed spaces. The chiller can produce condensation in humid environments, so plan for floor drainage nearby.

Can it stay outside?
Yes. The 304 stainless shell, cedar skirt, and marine-grade cover are built for outdoor use. The chiller is rated for ambient temperatures of 59–109°F, so in freezing climates you should drain the tub and protect the chiller for the winter. Freeze damage is not covered under warranty.
Why does the water look discolored at first?
The natural tannins in new Canadian cedar can tint the water slightly during the first weeks of use. It is harmless and diminishes over time as the wood mellows.
How often do the filters need changing?
Plan on servicing the 5-inch filter about every 30 days with regular use; the pleated sediment filter can be rinsed and reused before replacement. Finnmark sells both pleated and carbon replacement filters in 4-packs, and we stock them.
Is it loud?
The SoulCold is designed for quiet operation. Circulation is handled by an 88-watt DC pump, and the compressor is comparable to a quiet household appliance rather than a shop tool. Keeping 20 inches of clearance around the chiller also helps it run quietly and efficiently.
What warranty does it carry?
