What it does

The embedding flange is made of stainless steel and covers the uneven wooden edges around the heater, creating a clean and smooth finish. The embedding flange is useful if you plan to install the sauna heater partially inside the sauna platform. The HUUM Flange CS was designed for use with installation of the Cliff or Steel Series sauna heaters.

Which heaters it fits

HUUM specifies the Flange CS for the Cliff series and the Steel series, in both cases “except mini”. The CLIFF Mini and the STEEL Mini are outside this part’s fit.

“Prepare a square opening with a size of 16.7 x 16.7 in for the embedding flange.”
“Place the slats around the heater so that they fit tightly into the opening.”
“Make sure that the sides of slats fit together and fasten the corners to the floor using screws.”

The flange arrives as four slats plus the four fastening screws used to fix the corners down.

Common questions

Do I need an embedding flange?

An embedding flange is only needed when the sauna heater is being set partly down inside the sauna platform rather than standing free on the floor. HUUM's Flange CS covers the uneven wooden edges left around the heater by that cut-out, creating a clean, smooth finish. A CLIFF or STEEL heater standing openly on the sauna floor does not need one.

Does the HUUM Flange CS fit the CLIFF Mini or the STEEL Mini?

The HUUM Flange CS does not fit the Mini versions of either range. HUUM lists it as working with “Cliff series sauna heaters (except mini)” and “Steel series sauna heaters (except mini)”.

What size opening do I cut for the HUUM Flange CS?

A square opening of 16.7 x 16.7 in is required for the HUUM Flange CS. The manual reads: “Prepare a square opening with a size of 16.7 x 16.7 in for the embedding flange. Place the slats around the heater so that they fit tightly into the opening.” The four corners are then fastened down to the floor with the screws supplied.
