What it does

The HUUM LS Protective Bedding L is designed for use with the HIVE Flow LS Sauna Stoves. This bed is a protective accessory that increases safety when the sauna stove is placed on a floor made of wood or other combustible material.

The manual adds a second reason to fit one: “We also recommend installing it if there is water underfloor heating system piping in the floor below the sauna stove. The thermal plate protects the floor and the piping.” The bed is rated to support up to 661 lb.

What the manual says

Remove the protective film.
“Install feet and nuts (6 pcs.)”
“Put the protective bedding in place. The plate should be level and support all feet.”
“To ensure sufficient load capacity, screw the nuts against the bottom of the plate.”
Foot height: min. 2.2 in to max. 2.6 in.

Size and model

This is the large bed, drawn in the manual against HIVE Flow LS at 21.6 in by 26.7 in. HIVE Flow Mini LS takes the small bed at 19.7 in by 24.8 in.

If the stove passes through a wall

Fitting the bedding raises the stove, and the wall opening changes with it. The HUUM mounting collar manual gives HIVE Flow LS a 22 in dimension D on the floor and 24.2 in with protective bedding, with B going from 41.3 in to 43.3 in. Set the opening for the configuration you are actually building.
