A HIVE holds a deep bed of stones, and that mass is the whole point: it is what gives the heater its slow, heavy löyly. The cost of that mass is time. Cold air has to work its way up through the pile before the room comes with it. The Air Tunnel is HUUM’s answer. It is a stainless steel sleeve that mounts inside the heater, in among the rocks, and gives rising air a clear path from the elements to the top of the basket.

Check your heater first
HUUM has included the Air Tunnel in every HIVE sauna heater built since April 2024. If your heater is newer than that, it is already in there and you do not need this. This listing is for owners of earlier HIVE and HIVE Mini heaters who want to add one, and for anyone rebuilding a basket after a stone change.
Fitting it
The Air Tunnel goes in while the basket is empty, so the natural time to install one is when you are changing stones. Sauna stones want re-stacking every year or so anyway. Do both jobs at once and you get the benefit without a second teardown. The installation and operation manual covers placement.
See the difference in the basket
HUUM filmed the same heater stacked both ways. The first video is stone placement in a HIVE without the Air Tunnel, the second is the same job with it fitted. Watching the two back to back is the clearest explanation of what the sleeve is doing in there and how the stones sit around it.
Heaters it goes in
It is made for the HUUM HIVE and the HUUM HIVE Mini. Both are electric floor units with the deep stone basket the tunnel is designed to breathe through. It is not for the wood-burning HIVE.
Why we carry it
We sell a lot of HIVEs, and the one complaint people have about a big stone mass is the wait. This is the cheapest fix for that, and it is HUUM’s own part rather than a third-party workaround. If you are not sure how old your heater is, send us a photo of the label and we will tell you whether you already have one.
