What it does

The Flange H trims the opening when a full-size HIVE is set partly down into the bench or platform. In HUUM’s words: “The embedding flange is useful when you are planning to install your HIVE heater partly inside the sauna bench. It is made of stainless steel and it covers up the wooden edges around the heater, leaving the final result looking refined and smooth.”

Which heater it belongs to

This is the flange for the full-size HIVE electric heater (12, 15 and 18 kW), listed by HUUM under Operating Accessories on that heater’s page. The HIVE Mini electric heater takes the separate, smaller Flange HM, 18.31 in inside diameter against 22.64 in here, so the two are not interchangeable. HIVE Flow is a different, wood-burning family and does not use this part.

Common questions

Do I need an embedding flange?

An embedding flange is only needed when the sauna heater is being set partly down inside the bench or platform rather than standing free on the floor. HUUM describes the Flange H as useful “when you are planning to install your HIVE heater partly inside the sauna bench”, where the stainless ring covers the cut wooden edges around the heater for a smooth finish. A HIVE standing openly on the sauna floor does not need one.

What size is the HUUM Flange H?

The HUUM Flange H measures 22.64 in inside diameter and 28.94 in outside diameter. It is stainless steel and weighs 3.55 lb, and it is the embedding flange for the full-size HIVE electric heater in 12, 15 and 18 kW.

Is the HIVE embedding flange the same as the HIVE Mini one?
