Thermometers and Hygrometers

A sauna gauge has one job, and it is telling you the room is actually ready instead of leaving you to guess. Temperature alone will not do that. Humidity is the half of the room a thermometer cannot see, and it is the half that decides whether 180°F feels gentle or feels like a punishment, which is why most people end up wanting both readings in front of them.

You can get there two ways. Buy a thermometer and a hygrometer as a pair and mount them at head height on the wall opposite the heater, where the air has settled. Or buy one housing that carries both faces and be done.
