The PROSAUNAS Thermo-Aspen 2×2 VA Outside Corner Trim is 1.1″ x 1.1″, milled with an angle on one face for wrapping 90-degree exterior corners. Available in 1 ft and 8 ft lengths. It’s the trim piece that finishes the outside angle wherever two cladded surfaces meet at an exterior edge.

Why Thermo-Aspen

Corner trim takes more contact and more incidental moisture than wall cladding does. Someone’s wet towel, a splash from a ladle, a humid corner that doesn’t dry fully between sessions. Thermal modification (heat and steam, nothing else) takes the aspen past the point where it can absorb moisture in the same way untreated wood does. It won’t swell, won’t bow away from the corner, and won’t open a gap between the trim and the cladding over time. The color, a warm golden-brown, goes all the way through the wood, so a cross-cut end matches the face and no raw pale aspen shows at the joint.

One practical note: at 1.1″ x 1.1″, this trim requires that your exterior corner cladding installation is plumb. The trim will follow the corner as-built. If the corner has any bow or twist, that will show in the trim line. Take the time to get the corner true before installing.

Any exterior corner in a cladded sauna room: a room corner where two walls meet at an outward angle, a partition wall corner, or the outside edge of a bump-out.
