PROSAUNAS Thermo-Aspen 2X2 S4SEE SHP Moulding & Trim – Sauna Wood

Moulding that actually does something. The thermo-aspen 2×2 S4SEE SHP moulding at 1.1″ x 1.63″ is the piece you reach for when you need to cap a bench edge, cover a gap at the ceiling, frame a light channel, or add a clean horizontal break on a cladded wall. It’s the same thermal modification as the rest of our thermo-aspen line: heat and steam, no chemicals, golden-brown color all the way through, no warp, no resin, cool under bare skin. Available up to 10-foot lengths. Sold by the linear foot.

Finish work is what separates a good sauna from a great-looking one. This is the piece that closes the gaps.

The PROSAUNAS Thermo-Aspen 2×2 S4SEE SHP Moulding is 1.1″ thick by 1.63″ wide, with eased rounded edges on all four faces. Available in 1, and 10-foot lengths. It’s not decorative in a fussy way. It’s a clean, versatile trim that builders use to cap bench nosings, close the gap at a wall-ceiling junction, frame heater guard channels, and add horizontal structure to an otherwise flat cladded wall.

Why Thermo-Aspen

Thermo-aspen isn’t just treated wood. The thermal modification (extreme heat and steam, no chemicals) restructures the wood at a cellular level so it can’t absorb moisture and won’t move in a high-humidity environment. That matters for moulding more than it might seem: in an untreated wood, a small moulding piece installed tight will swell and bow away from the wall as the sauna cycles through wet and dry. Thermo-aspen stays put. The golden-brown color runs all the way through, so any cut end, bevel, or coped joint keeps the same tone as the face.

It scratches, like all sauna woods do. At 1.63″ wide and 1.1″ thick, it’s also not the piece for a structural role. Use it for what it is: a finish trim, not a support member.

PLAN THE WHOLE SAUNA

The room and heater still have to work as one system.

Start with the room dimensions, then account for glass, masonry, insulation, ceiling height, required clearances, and available electrical service. That is how we move from a product that looks right to a sauna that heats evenly and comfortably.
