The profile is S4SEE: surfaced four sides with two eased edges, so it’s smooth to the touch and ready for benches, backrests, and skirting without additional milling. At 0.69″ thick and 3.5″ wide, it lays up clean on a standard bench frame. Milled in Canada. Available in lengths from 1 ft to 10 ft, so you can cut to fit or run full lengths on a long bench.
Why Cedar (and the honest part)
Cedar’s natural oils resist decay and insects with no treatment, and clear VG cedar has no sap streaks and no knots to sand around. The aroma is the real deal: it shows up in the heat and it’s the thing cedar buyers are actually buying. We understand that.
Here’s what we’d tell you on the phone: cedar moves more through the heat-and-cool cycle than thermally modified wood. Good clear cedar now runs roughly 3x the price of thermo-aspen, and thermo-aspen stays cooler under bare skin and holds its joints tighter over time. We carry cedar because some rooms call for the classic look and smell done right. We carry thermo-aspen because we think it’s the better technical choice for most builds. Both are honest positions. If you want the warmest cedar experience and you’re fine with a little more seasonal movement, this board delivers it.
