EMF Test Log

The tests conducted on Finnmark Designs' infrared heaters, models Spectrum+ and Spectrum Carbon, focused on measuring the electromagnetic fields (EMF) produced. These low-EMF heaters were tested at different positions and bandwidths (100Hz, 200Hz, and 3800Hz) using a Narda EHP-50F RF analyzer. The highest EMF measurement recorded was 1.1708mG at Position 3 of the Spectrum+ heater, which is well below the ICNIRP Occupational 2010 safety limits. All tests showed that the heaters maintain very low-EMF levels, with several readings below 0.1mG, confirming their safety for use. These results affirm that Finnmark Designs’ heaters meet the stringent low-EMF requirements for occupational environments.

This warranty covers various components of the sauna, with different durations depending on the specific part and usage conditions. For indoor residential use, which is likely the most common scenario for the FD-3, the sauna cabin (all wood components) and the controls and power supply are covered for 10 years. The warranty extends to other essential parts of the FD-3 sauna as well. The Spectrum Plus™ Heaters, a key feature of Finnmark saunas, come with a lifetime warranty for all types of use, including indoor residential. LED lighting is covered for 10 years, and even optional components like cushions and outdoor covers are included in the warranty, albeit for shorter periods.     There’s nothing like a traditional Finnish sauna, but this is as close as it gets with infrared. Finnmark rates the FD-3 to 170°F, and it plugs into a standard 240V outlet (NEMA 6-15P).

    How do they pull this off? It starts with walls insulated up to 4” thick using mineral wool and a radiant barrier. Western red cedar lines the interior. Thermo-Aspen clads the exterior.

    The FD-3 combines long-wave Carbon 360° panels with short-wave Spectrum Plus™ heaters for true full-spectrum coverage. Each heater is placed for full body coverage.
