A wood buffer around your DROP
The curved wood rail follows DROP’s outline and helps reduce accidental contact with its hot basket. It does not reduce the heater’s required clearances.
Keep knees and elbows off the hot basket
A DROP hangs low, right where you reach and step as you climb onto the bench. HUUM’s US manual recommends a safety railing around the heater to prevent accidental contact, and Rail D is HUUM’s own, bent to the DROP’s rounded basket. It puts a band of birch between you and the hot steel without moving the heater.
How it fits
- Every DROP. The 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 9 kW models share one basket, so one Rail D fits all four.
- Birch and stainless steel. Two bent birch arcs join on a stainless support, with stainless wall brackets.
- Bolted to the heater, screwed to the wall. The support sits on the DROP’s grates in the third gap from the top, around the front rod, and bolts on. You mark where the arms meet the wall, drill, and screw the brackets in place.
- The clearances do not change. Rail D is wood, so keep every minimum distance in the DROP manual between the heater and anything that can burn.
