Order it before you close the wall

Automatic water dosing is one of the few sauna upgrades that changes the session rather than the room. It puts a measured amount of water on the stones on a schedule, so the löyly keeps coming without anybody getting off the bench. The catch is the delivery. Feed it with visible tubing and you have undone the look of a clean panelled interior. The SASL2M is Harvia’s answer: a black design pipe that carries the water to the stones and is meant to be run through the wall panel, so the only thing in the room is the nozzle.

What it is

A black pipe, 23.62 inches long, 1.18 inches wide, standing 3.15 inches off the wall, weighing 2.2 pounds. It installs above the heater and aims the water at the stones. The nozzle is deliberately understated rather than a fixture that draws the eye.

What it is not

This is the pipe only. The Autodose system that meters and pumps the water is sold separately, and you need one for this part to do anything. If you are planning a dosing setup, budget for both.

Planning the install

Because the pipe is designed to pass through the wall panel, the time to decide on it is while the framing is open, not after the cladding is on. It mounts above the heater, so its position depends on which heater you are running and where it sits. If you are building around a Harvia Cilindro or a Harvia Virta, send us the room drawing and we will tell you where the pipe wants to land relative to the stones.

Why it is on our list

We see this ordered late more than almost any other part, usually as a retrofit into a finished wall, which is the expensive way to do it. It belongs in the first order.
