Torch

Torch is the only gas sauna stove we recommend, and the only one we sell. It is built in Hancock, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, by P&E Industries, where the people who build the stoves answer the phone. It burns natural gas or propane, so there is no 240 volt circuit to run and no shore power needed on a trailer. The heat is close enough to a wood stove that you cannot tell from the bench.

We carry it in two sizes, the TS-65F and the TS-85F, which replaced the TS-60F and TS-80F. Both take a 6 inch Class A all-fuel chimney that runs up through the roof, so a Torch belongs in an outdoor kit or a room built around it. Rocks, venting, the propane hookup kit and a remote start can ship with the stove. Call us at (844) 565-1113 and we will size it with you.

Torch questions

What size Torch heater does my sauna need?

Torch rates the TS-65F (65,000 BTU) for rooms of 150 to 450 cubic feet and the TS-85F (90,000 BTU) for 450 to 950. Count the glass before you choose: we size a 325 cubic foot room with a 6 by 6 foot window like a 425 cubic foot room. For commercial and trailer builds we start at the TS-85F.

Does a Torch gas sauna heater need electricity?

No. The stove runs on gas alone, with a wall thermostat and timer, so there is no 40 or 50 amp breaker to find room for on the panel. The one option that needs power is the remote start, a key fob that starts the sauna from up to 300 feet away, which needs 110 volts at the control box.

What propane tank does a Torch stove run on?

Torch recommends a 100 pound tank for either stove. The minimum is 60 pounds for the TS-65F and 80 pounds for the TS-85F, and output tapers as a tank runs low. The regulator and hose that connect a tank come as a separate propane hookup kit.

Will a Torch heater work at high altitude?

Yes. We have sent Torch stoves to sites at least 8,000 feet up and nearly 10,000. Torch sets the burner for your elevation at the factory, so give us the altitude with your order. At 9,250 feet Torch recommended stepping up to the larger stove.
