What it does

HUUM’s description: “The HUUM Flange D embedding flange is useful when you are planning to install your DROP stove partly inside the sauna bench. It is made of stainless steel and it covers up the wooden edges around the stove, leaving the final result looking refined and smooth.”

Cutting the opening, from the manual

• “Place the plates of embedding flange on the desired place of the boarding. Make sure that the end edges of the embedding flange are against the wall.”
• “Mark the inner edge of the embedding flange on the boarding of the sauna platform.”
• “Follow the marked line and draw the second contour 2 in outwards. We recommend using a 2 in wide wooden block for that purpose.”
• “Cut the wider contour by following the aperture.”
• “Attach the brackets of the embedding flange to the plates by using bolts and nuts.”
• “Install the embedding flange to the cut aperture, adjust the cut edge, if necessary. Attach the brackets to the boards of the platform with screws.”
• “You can now install the DROP heater. Follow the minimum height from the figure below”, the figure gives a 15 in minimum.

The flange arrives as plates plus three brackets and their fixings, so the marking method above is the whole job: mark the inner edge, step out 2 in, cut to the wider line.
