Put it under the stove before you light the fire

A stray ember can sit quietly on a tent floor long after everyone has stopped watching it. This 3 x 4.5 ft mat gives the stove a fiberglass-silicone landing area for sparks, embers, and radiant heat.

What it does

  • Protects the floor or ground covering beneath a tent-sauna wood stove.
  • Gives hot embers a place to cool instead of smoldering into the surface below.
  • Flips between a black face and a gray face.
  • Sweeps clean after the embers are fully cold.

What it does not do

The mat does not make bad stove placement safe. Keep every clearance required by the stove and tent instructions, use the proper chimney and heat shields, and inspect the mat before each fire.

After the session, let every ember go cold before sweeping the mat or packing the tent. Replace the mat if the coating is cut, burned through, or badly worn.

PLAN THE WHOLE SAUNA

The room and heater still have to work as one system.

Start with the room dimensions, then account for glass, masonry, insulation, ceiling height, required clearances, and available electrical service. That is how we move from a product that looks right to a sauna that heats evenly and comfortably.
