Made for the douse
A bail is the arched handle on a pail, fixed at both sides so it swings up to carry and folds down out of the way. Raised straight up, it lets you lift a full gallon overhead and pour it in one motion, which is how ProSaunas means this pail to be used: dousing yourself with cool water. Empty, it weighs 2 lb.
The carved ladle
The ladle is carved spruce with a large reservoir, 16.5 in long and 5 in across the bowl, and weighs 0.25 lb. ProSaunas shaped it to make steam easy to control over hot stones, and its length keeps your hand back from the heater while you pour.
The wood and the lining
The spruce has a natural finish in a deep brown tone, with knots and grain showing through it. A plastic lining inside prevents leaks, so the spruce never has to hold the water on its own. Grain, knots and tone vary from pail to pail, as they do in any real wood.
