The first question we get about a Haljas is whether people can see in. They cannot. Haljas Houses designs, engineers, and builds its rooms in Estonia, and wraps them in double-glazed mirror-effect glass that reads as a mirror from outside while you keep a clear view from the bench. A low exhaust vent moves hot air up across the ceiling and back down the glass, so the heat stays even. Haljas is a three-time Red Dot design award winner.

We list four Haljas rooms. The two-person Hele Nano is the one we ship most. Above it sit the three-person Hele Mini, the Hele Single seating seven around a central HUUM HIVE rock basket, and the Hele Double with a changing room behind a glass partition. What size heater does a Haljas Hele Nano need?

Haljas builds the Nano for 3 kW electric heaters, and the ones we ship now pair with the 6 kW HUUM Cliff Haljas lists for the room. The glass is already factored into that number. Across our own installs, 3 to 3.5 kW covers the southern states and 6 kW suits northern climates.

What electrical does a Haljas Hele Nano need?

With the 6 kW Cliff it is a hardwired 240 volt single-phase circuit, 25 amps of draw on a 30 amp breaker with 10-gauge wire. With a 3.5 kW heater the same room drops to 14.5 amps on a 20 amp breaker. Either way the run enters through the floor on about half-inch conduit.

What does a Haljas sauna sit on, and how does it get into place?

Adjustable legs on load-bearing ground. The Hele Single needs only pavers or concrete under its six to eight legs, no full slab, and the Hele Double has ten legs with two to three inches of leveling range. Ask for the leg-placement drawing before you pour. The Nano moves on a pallet jack, bigger rooms lift by crane from hooks on the roof.

How long is the wait on a Haljas sauna?

Rooms already in US stock ship within about 10 business days of the order being verified. A built-to-order room comes from Estonia and runs about 20 weeks from the day you place it, so decide on the interior early. The room carries a two-year residential warranty, and the HUUM heater carries five.
