The Penguin is for an existing tub that needs repeatable cold water without bags of ice taking over the weekly routine. Its 3/4 HP system provides 7,500 BTU/h of cooling, and the pump and filter are built into the same 49 lb unit.
Give the pump an easy job
Gravity-prime the system before startup. Place the chiller within 3 feet of the tub drain, with the bottom of the chiller at or below the bottom of the tub. Short, simple plumbing helps the pump stay primed.
What to expect
Under favorable conditions, the Penguin can hold water in the low 40s or high 30s. Tub volume, insulation, shade, outdoor temperature, and plumbing all matter. The honest number is the temperature your whole setup can hold, not the lowest number printed on a chiller page.

Disconnect the chiller during freezing conditions. Filtration cuts down on water changes, but the tub still needs normal cleaning and water care.
