There is no technical reason a ladle has to match a bucket. There is a very good practical one: they sit next to each other in a small room, in your eyeline, for the entire session. A black pine ladle beside a black pine bucket looks deliberate. A pale birch ladle in the same corner looks like the shop was out of stock.
The shape
14.2 inches overall, which keeps your hand out of the steam column. The bowl is 3.9 inches across and shallow, so a pour lands wide across the stone bed. Wide pours give a softer, longer löyly than a narrow scoop that punches all its water into one hot spot.

Care
Do not leave it standing in the bucket between sessions. Take it out, let it dry, and it will keep its finish for years instead of going soft and pale at the bowl.
