A traditional sauna bucket is coopered from staves and relies on the wood swelling tight. That works beautifully while the bucket is used often and stays damp. It fails when the sauna sits unused for a fortnight, the staves shrink, and the joints let go. A plastic inner container removes that failure mode completely without giving up the look of wood in the room.

Why black

Care
Empty it after every session and lift the liner out to dry. Standing water is what kills buckets, ladles and the floor under both of them.
