Fifteen minutes, no battery, no screen
There is a practical reason sand timers persist in saunas long after clocks got cheap. Electronics and 190 degree steam do not coexist, a phone left on the bench is a ruined phone, and a wall clock inside the hot room fogs up and eventually dies. Sand does not care. Flip it and it works, this year and in ten years.
Fifteen is the number for a reason
Most people’s first sauna round lands somewhere between ten and twenty minutes, and fifteen is the middle of that. Long enough to properly heat through, short enough that you leave wanting the second round rather than staggering out of the first. Use it as a marker, not a rule: the timer is there so you notice time passing, not so you have to sit until the sand runs out.

- Depth: 1.2 in
- Height: 11.4 in

Mounting
It stands or hangs. Put it where you can see it from the bench without turning round, which usually means beside the door rather than behind the heater.
As a gift
This is the accessory people buy for somebody who already owns the sauna and has everything else. It is under twenty five dollars, it is Finnish, and it does not duplicate anything they already have.
Why we stock it
Because we would rather sell a nine dollar habit than a nine hundred dollar gadget, and because taking the phone out of the room improves the session more than most upgrades do. Pair it with the black pine bucket and ladle if you are putting a set together.
