If your sauna has a peninsula bench or a partial wall, the outside corner is the first thing you see and the first thing someone reaches for. A raw edge there sticks out. The VA outside corner trim is the clean answer.
At 1.1" x 1.1" (28mm x 28mm) with an angle moulding profile, the VA trim wraps outside corner edges where cladding terminates and gives the edge a finished, intentional look. It’s the same section as the 2×2 S4SEE moulding, which makes it easy to carry the same profile around the whole room. Natural alder, milled in Estonia by ProSaunas, E1 certified, with the same warm reddish-brown and fine grain as every other piece in the alder family.
Why Alder
Outside corners in a sauna get touched: someone grabs the edge on the way to the bench, brushes it walking past. Alder handles that contact well for the same reasons it handles bench use: no resin, no splinters, stays cool. The 1.1" section is thick enough to take some handling without flexing. The same softness that applies to all natural alder applies here: this is not a hardwood, and a sharp enough impact will dent it. It’s a finishing trim piece, not a bumper rail. For everyday contact it holds up fine. For high-traffic commercial corners, something harder or thermally modified would last longer.
